MH/A was asked to look at converting the vacant sea plane hanger closest to the Golden Gate Bridge, Building 937 on West Crissy Field in San Francisco's Presidio National Park, into an indoor baseball venue which would function as a multi-purpose facility as well. The fully-turfed ground level would allow multiple Little League teams to practice simultaneously, a short-field soccer game to take place, or a wonderful special event to be staged. The support facilities for the athletic venue - check-in, lockers and restrooms, as well as viewing areas and a sports cafe, occur on a second level, without infringing on the ground-level play field. Enclosed spaces are clad in a translucent material back-lit by LED lights to allow color control software to "brand" the space for any specific team or event.
